the first signs of independence...

This morning I took Sophie upstairs to change her out of her pajamas. As I pulled a shirt out of the drawer, she pulled a shirt out of the drawer and held it up to me. I then tried to put "my" shirt on her and she proceeded to drop to the ground in a full blown tantrum!!! REALLY???!!! I walked away from her and she stopped immediately. So I tried again to put "my" shirt on her. No luck. So I held her shirt up and she smiled and stuck her arm out. This outfit is the result of her stylish choice this morning...
 

Merry Christmas

We had the Moorefield family over for Christmas dinner. I thought it would be cute to get the kids all together to take a photo. Well, it isn't an easy feat to get them all looking/smiling at once (especially Sophie). These were the best I could get. I hope you all had a great holiday!!!

getting ready for christmas eve dinner

We went to Brio for Christmas Eve. Sophie, as usual, ate a loaf of sourdough bread all on her own (which Tim says is very "Albrecht like". She has been very interested in her princess purse and stores all kinds of trinkets in it. She has also been very affectionate as of late. Anything or anyone she likes gets plenty of kisses. We have been talking about Santa all month to Sophie. She recognizes him, knows his name and gives him kisses (at least the figurines we have at home). We had a great morning out and she was loving all of the Christmas displays at Easton... until... we had our encounter with Santa. Oh well, we still ordered the photo and I'm sure she'll get a kick out of it one day...

The hair is out of control

Her bedhead is back! We are going though an awkward hair stage (and we are going to let it ride) while Sophie's hair is growing long. Also, she has really caught on to using her fork and spoon. Now when we try to help she pushes us away... can you say, "independent" !!!!!
